Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has hit back at criticisms by former coach Carlos Queiroz.
The Manchester United number two is upset that Jose Antonio Camacho has had his wish for some defensive stability granted with the arrival of Walter Samuel and Jonathan Woodgate.
"Camacho's squad is better than mine, at least more stable, and, with a staff like this, we surely would have won the league,"
, complained the Old Trafford official, who left in the summer after a trophy-less campaign.
"The damage was not done to me but to Real Madrid."
Perez has responded during an interview with Madrid Radio by admitting he made a wrong decision in recruiting Queiroz.
"The objective to install Queiroz did not work," he stated.
"We must look to the future. I keep a good memory of all the people who have worked for Real Madrid."
Meanwhile, Queiroz is confident United will march up the Premiership table after a poor start.
"We started with some problems because we had nine players missing at one point," he told Marca.
"But we are working hard to climb up The Premiership and, by next week, we will have the squad complete.
"Then you will start to see the true Manchester United and our resurgence will begin.
"My main objective is to help make United the best team in the world."
