Great free kick, Liverpool wouldn't have won this game this time last season

:interesting:

That Babel looks good as well :)

Liverpool will not challenge for the title this season, they are still looking shy of a decent goal scorer, Gerrard can't win the title on his own! That Babel looks promising tho

I thought it was a proper stonker, and sets my fantasy team on their way nicely. If you don't have Gerrard in your team you're just losing points week in week out.

Have to agree with Babel too. Encouraging signs so far.

I'd love it to be Liverpool's year, if only to keep the Premiership interesting. Although it'd probably be more interesting if the sides all played at the same time instead of this ridiculous situation, which is only getting worse, in which all 20 Premiership clubs need 4 different days a week to fulfil all their fixtures.

Couldn't agree more. Another exampe of how money is ruining the game.

It's a joke isn't it?

Gone are the days when you could put your feet up in front of the BBC vidiprinter of a Saturday afternoon to check off every score of the day and then trying to work out how the tables would look before being flashed up on screen. Now you only end up with half the games being played, and those with the most bearing on the issues of top spot, European spaces and relegation are inevitably the matches saved for another time so your Saturday afternoon is spent seeing if the teams scrabbling about mid-table have moved much (which they usually haven't)

It's not like it used to be

:(

Great strike by Gerrard, but it wasn't a free kick in the first place and the way the he complained to the ref to get the kick was like a petulant child.

I thought Obafemi Martins overhead kick was better.

It must be a real a pain in the proverbial for supporters as well. I'm sure I read somewhere that last season, Man Utd only had something like only 4 home games on a Saturday at 3pm all season. thats just plain wrong.

I preferred the teleprinter. It used to just conk out now and then... :lolol:

I don't know why this country does not have a tv station specifically for football - and replay games all week.

Even the USA has a channel dedicated to football (or soccer as they call it). I would watch about 5 whole games of the weekend's fixtures, but at verious times through the following week.

Where's the fun in watching 90 mins when you know the score already? Maybe I'd do that if it was the Albion but anything more than highlights for other teams and I'd not bother thanks.

Oh and Liverpool will run the top two much closer this season. I saw more skill in 30 seconds of watching Torres highlights last night than I saw from the Premiership's OGH, Kuyt in the whole of last season
