This looks very interesting on the 10th anniversary of his death - Martin Scorsese's portrait of George Harrison.

Two part series as well with the 2nd post Beatles episode tomorrow night.

When 'the trouble' and I were up in London a while back we saw the above poster on the Underground and were both saying to each other how well Scorsese did finding such an amazing look-a-like to play Harrison in the film. Doh.

Ta for that. Following gross excess last night I shall be staying in and I shall be watching this with my Horlicks.

Really looking forward to this, always thought Harrison was a very interesting character.

If memory serves me correct they kept his death from the media for a while for some reason not that clear.

If you have any interest in the Beatles or music in the 60s this is really quite brilliant

Harrison and Lennon were the ones with the most 'baggage' (certainly in Lennon's case) hence their searching for a deeper meaning in life/inner peace, while the more laid back Ringo and cynical John scoffed at the whole affair (allegedly).

I hate it when people say Harrison went looking for something more in his life because he took acid!! Its like saying he wasn't intelligent enough when he wasn't drugged up to think of it himself! He strikes me as a rather intelligent chap who went looking for more things in life becuase he was interested and had enough common sense to want to question being raised Catholic because he could. He probably took acid as everyone else was and it was the thing to do at that time.

Great two part set. Bought the DVD.

Like you say amazing footage, particularly Paul & George signing the legal separation of The Beatles in the Apple offices during the seventies.

Heads up as on within the hour and has to be better than that Celebrity crap.

I thought the footage in the first one was very interesting and as Harrison spent a lot of his later years out of the limelight it bodes well for part 2.
