"I don't care about your political
beliefs, if you walk among us
unvaccinated, you are an enemy.
You don't have the 'right' to go through
a red light or smoke in a building.
I hate this whole delusional,
evil idea that you get to do
whatever you want
because of your 'rights,'
and the rest of the world
be damned."
- GENE SIMMONS

I’m not a fan of rock music but I suspect most people would agree with him totally .

Rather nice to see rock stars that are supposedly free spirits and anti establishment by default turn out to being people with advanced social consciences..

. Alice Cooper is a great example of this too and does a huge amount charity work and uses his position to talk common sense.

Should make the flu jab compulsory then.

And yes, I am double COVID jabbed and would advise everyone else to do the same.

Saying what 99% of us think, you have to be a bit mental/selfish not to get it, but a complete waste of time expecting to change opinions either way.

Would he have the same opinion if he was 40 years younger and therefore not in a vulnerable group.

Almost certainly not. Like most boomers, self-interest is his utmost priority.

What a load of tosh, both my kids are young and 100% behind vaccinations, it is a very very small number of shouty people, of whatever age, who disagree

Selfishness and a lack of concern for others is just as bad, if not worse, than self interest isn’t it?

Needless cynicism. Would you be saying that if you weren't a git? We shall never know.

The only people I know of who are anti vaxxers are of no particular age but have one thing in common - stupidity. They just don't know the long term effects of the vaccine. But they do know it doesn't stop you getting Covid so there is no point taking it. And they may take it when they are ready but they won't be told.

Several people I know have had to 'put on ignore' the odd lifelong friend and, in one case, a relative for this (admittedly one is a longstanding acolyte of Andrew Wakefield, so no massive surprise there). I can count the phenomenon on the fingers on one hand, fortunately.

To sneer at someone for calling out anti vaxxers is crass. I'm very disappointed at the attitude of someone I thought, obsession with making polls aside, was decent .

Blimey. Do you really believe that ? You think people have vaccinations solely to protect themselves ? I am sure you appreciate that young people can also be in a vulnerable group.

Wow.

Pause. Think. Submit Reply. But mostly Pause and Think.

I'm not anti Vax, I'm very pro Vax, but I chose not to have the vaccine because at the time it felt like the best decision. That was a personal choice and nothing to do with Mr Simmons. Where we are now in the pandemic, there is no longer any need for me to get it.

Essentially I don't appreciate being called an enemy by a bloke being all shouty about an issue that he wouldn't have been so shouty about when he wasn't an at risk group.

In my opinion, the sooner the population of the world and world leaders all wake up to the fact that everybody has to act together now in certain matters to save us all, the better. We are at so many tipping points and if one of those means compulsory vaccination to protect us all, then maybe the future we might have read about or seen in Sci-Fi films has suddenly arrived. We wouldn't have batted an eyelid if Captain Kirk landed on a planet where everybody had to be vaccinated every year to prevent a virus wiping out the population. we would have said how very sensible and thank goodness it's not like that here. Well unfortunately it is. Simmons is right. Time for world leaders to grow a pair.

But you are an enemy of society ... whether or not you like being branded one.

The fella is right of course

You have no idea what his position would have been at a younger age, but are reflecting a position to back your narrative. It also mirrors the confusion in your argument where you claim to be Pro Vax but also don’t feel a need to get a vaccination. Very strange.

The death rate is running at a 1000+ a week and the number is rising and the numbers will continue to rise as we move into winter with the use of more enclosed spaces to socialise. Who knows what the numbers will go to.

Roughly 7000 hospital beds are occupied by people with COVID stopping other life saving treatments and continually straining our NHS staff.

If you are not prepared to vaccinate you are directly or indirectly contributing to the problem

If you are not prepared to vaccinate then you pose a direct threat to people who are vulnerable.

This is why you are considered an enemy - there is no neutral position in this fight.

Vaccination should be compulsory , clearly some people will have medical reasons for not having it but they will be the few and far between.
