I hope the proverbial key is thrown away when it comes to sentencing - and his life inside is at least as miserable as he made the lives of those he assaulted.

Do not know about what sentence he will get, it will not be long enough. These date back, so will the tariff be different. I seem to remember Stuart Hall not getting a long enough sentence a few years back.

If we adhere to the old tariffs on sentencing would - and of course I know the answer to this really - a 75 year old man who was found guilty of murder now for a crime committed in 1963 face the punishment from those days ?

He's 70 years old. Realistically, that won't need to be a long sentence, in all probability...
