Sitting in front of me today was a man and his 15yr old son, the son was wearing a Crystal palace tracksuit. this caused a man to start swearing at the pair of them telling them both to F off.

The dad explained that his son is a brighton fan but plays for the CP youth team and has just returned from a game. The arguement got very heated indeed.

I felt sorry for the kid as he is only 15 but was it really such a good idea to weat this to the albion, almost started a brawl.

Your thoughts?

Well I wouldn't go to a CPFC game in my Brighton shirt unless we were playing.

Sort of hypothetical as I would never go and watch CPFC unless Brighton played them.

Shouldn't really have worn their tracksuit - asking for trouble

Total stupidity of the dad not to have got the kid to cover up at least,No one should beallowed to wear shit like that.Even at 15 the kid should know better.Shame he got abuse but what the hell do they expect. Can't believe the pair of them can be so daft.
Can't understand seeing Real Madrid and other clubs shirts either but Scum shirts is pathetic.

The corner quietly rusting
Why would a Brighton fan play for the CP youth team?

Also noticed Wednesday fans in A block. Not that they were trying to hide it or anything. Even had the cheek to cheer when out goal got disallowed. Gits

Surely we are all adult enough not to hassle a 15 yr old child trying to become a professional footballer. Whilst I agree it isn't the cleverest thing to do I do think people should've let it lie.

Indeed not the cleverist of ideas but to abuse a child for it is a little out of order, if he obviously couldn't have changed.

I've done something very similar, but the other way round. When i was about 13 my mate's dad decided to go to selhurst, not to watch wimbledon but the other lot. It was a spur of the moment thing and the first my mate knew of it was at the end of training(for the mighty hove park colts). He asked if i wanted to come. Brighton were playing away at Birmingham that day so i thought why not, the scum were playing Nottingham Forest so i thought it would be a good chance top see them get thrashed. Anyway, as it was spur of the moment I had no change of clothes and there wasnt time to go back home(to saltdean) and back out to hove, so i had to borrow some of my mates. I resolutely refused to change my top though, which was, of course, my albion one.

Thus, i ended up in the palace stand, wearing a brighton shirt, cheering on Forest, denigrating their precious chris(donkey) armstrong and saluting Stan('palace reject') Collymore. Palce were rubbish and lost 3-1 with collymore scoring two goals, one of which was a beauty that won goal of the month on match of the day.

Most of the palace fans were O.K with me, i was only a kid afterall, but there was one fat bastard in the row in front who was getting irate at my mocking of palace. When the half time scores were read out, who took grat delight in letting me know that Brighton were losing 3-1 and were going to get thrashed(to be fair, most of the palace fans around me also enjoyed my displeasure at that half time scoreline). Undetered, I carried on taking the piss out of palace for the duration of the second half, hoping that brighton wouldnt get tonked.

As we were leaving the full times were read out, fat bastard palace man was eagerly awaiting the albions demise. It was a sweet sweet moment however, when the following scoreline was read out.....Birmingham city 3, Brighton 3. How I laughed, and the 'v' sign i flicked in his direction as I was leaving was particularly enjoyable.

In conclusion, while it was both big AND clever for me to wear a brighton shirt to palace, what sort of idiot would want to wear a palace shirt in Brighton?

The lad was sat fairly near me, and it wasn't a Palace tracksuit, but a polo shirt, with the badge on the chest and Churchill on the collar. It wouldn't have taken much to stick something on over the top. He kept very quiet during the argument with the guy that was sat behind him, his Dad was going off on one though. I'd also say that he didn't look 15, so he was fair game.

It was completely irresponsible of his Dad to allow him to go into Withdean wearing that. I'm amazed that more people didn't give him shit. Some people are just f***ing clueless.
