Blimey, with the amount of people drinking in Shades, if you were in there in the summers of 1989 and 1990, there's a good chance I might have served you. It was a brilliant place to work: nice other people behind the bar and, as for chatting up ladies, there was nowhere better.

Mind you, I now weigh about twice what I weighed back then...:(
Although I bet the rest you do as well! :)

Then you must be one of the guys who went and joined the Navy and knocked around with Steve and Colin and Malcolm and some dubious 'ladies' called Karen, Debbie and Michelle.

Anyone remember Le Grandgousier restaurant in Brighton? You got about 6 courses on a set menu! Although I seem to remember one of them was raw vegetables from a basket. :(

I also remember an American burger restaurant that we walked all the way to Kemp Town for.

My French master took us to Le Grandgousier when I was in the Sixth Form at Ardingly. We had an enormous meal, a great laugh, topped off with Creme de Menthes, which, as we were on beer only at the time, sent us home with our heads spinning. I ended up walking back hand in hand with the girlfriend of a good friend of mine, so I was rather glad he wasn't there.

Marvellous scenes
