Or... LuaLua vs. Bennett.

Minor point for discussion following a very big win. Have to say I'm not in favour of the free-kicks on the edge of the box now suddenly falling to LuaLua on the strength of his mighty goal t'other week, rather than to dead-ball specialist Bennett. Seems to me that over the course of the season we'll benefit more from Bennett's wicked placing of the ball rather than LuaLua belting it full-on at the first member of the wall. Any thoughts?

Benno shouldve had the 1st half one that wat literally right on the edge of the box. Lua Lua should have them from 25yards plus IMO...

I think we would benefit from mixing it up, keep the defence guessing - should the wall stand firm to block the blast from lualua, or play it a bit loose to try to block the pled shotof bennett?

Incidentally, any set-piece specialists on here able to explain how important the little tap and steady before Lua Lua striking the ball is in terms of widening the angle etc? Twice today he was closed down by defenders who were able to get out because of that.

Yes I agree. Poyet was screaming at lua lua to side foot it but he ignored that. Suspect Bennet was a better bet from there though.

I think the change of angle is slight, so it is likely to be more about encouraging the wall to break and leave a gap for the shot. Of course, it increases the likelihood of the shot being closed down, but I guess it's abut preferences, whether a player prefers to try to get it over the wall, or through the wall.
