Italian??

Messi is amazing but doesn't play well for ARGENTINA. Rooney is quality in a Man Utd or England shirt

It was a tad tongue in cheek so please don't take it too seriously. I do think Messi is the best player on the World though

I watch the Spanish footie every week and 100% agree with you, Lionel Messi is the best player in the world. But given the option of Messi or Rooney in my team, I'd go with Rooney any day of the week.

Another Ronaldo goal though, 22 goals in 23 games I think he said! Amazing really.

Rooney has scored more than that in his last 22 games for Utd.
And he hasnt got Kaka etc laying them on a plate for him either !

All 3 players are light years ahead of the rest in the world at present.

Wayne Rooney, right now, is the best player in the World. Fact. How anyone can even challenge it, I don't know.

Rooney is a typical English style player, power and presence. Messi has to use guile and craft to get goals. Both players at the top of their game and the top 2 players in the World at the moment for me.

Fact? Opinion. ???

Yup, and yet Real will still win f*** all this season, just like last time when they went down the Galacticos route. :D

Top of the league tonight though. :clap2:

Did you see Messi's hat trick earlier? Compare them with Rooney's goals against Fulham and that's my reasoning.

Ah, you've lost me there son. We play a different game to the Spanish, comparisons are unfair on everyone to be fair. Messi's hattrick was pure class, but then Rooney's goals were a different brand of class, but class nonetheless.

Oh dear. It was used as an apt EXAMPLE

I'm MESSI'n.

Here's my reasoning -

This season:
- Rooney
- - Internationals:
- - - Starts: 9
- - - Goals: 6
- - - Assists: 1
- - Champions Lg:
- - - Starts: 4
- - - Subs: 1
- - - Goals: 4
- - - Assists: 1

- Messi
- - Internationals:
- - - Starts: 13
- - - Goals: 4
- - - Assists: 1
- - Champions Lg:
- - - Starts: 6
- - - Goals: 2
- - - Assists: 0

Do I care what Rooney's goals look like come the World Cup? I'll let you answer that.

Rooney was in the right place at the right time like all quality strikers, and passed the ball into the net. Messi's runs and how he beats players will ease before curling the ball in the net are awesome. Rooney is fantastically effective in the English game but I can't help but admire the sheer class Messi.

True, by a GD of two. That will change though.

As has been said here, Rooney and Messi are different kinds of class but both are undeniably brilliant players.

Generally I prefer watching Messi's more skilful approach, but if Rooney's way helps us get our hands on the World Cup come the Summer, then you'll get no complaint from me whatsoever.

They're very different players to be fair, but both true class at what they do. As I said before, I would rather Rooney in my team though, I think he offers more overall but if you had the choice, you'd be wetting yourself with glee!

Higuain hattrick! :clap2: Tap ins, but a hattrick nonetheless. Best striker in the world!.... :clap2:
