You can only assume the financial package and possible project they've offered him was enough to turn his head. It does indeed seem very 'un-Watford' though. Perhaps they've learned from their mistakes and will actually give a manager time to assemble a team worthy of promotion and beyond, rather than sprinting to the Premier League without the substance to stay there.
