Which ones do you buy and read?

I read World Soccer (though I hate the word Soccer - arghhhhhhh pseudo intellect!), 442 (fantastic magazine but too many adverts and perhaps too professional, WSC (fantastic vibe from it and great journalism) and Shoot (though that can be quite poor).

Have been a WSC subscriber for years and still enjoy the read. I get 442 as it is good to keep in the bathroom for reading in peace and quiet! Sometimes get Total Youth Football for coaching tips.

I occasionally get 4-4-2

But to be honest I very rarely read football magazines.

The net and 24 sports news is much more up to date for me

442 has gone downhill.

The last issue I read had a group of 'fans' - Arsenal, Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea - who only watched games on the TV in pubs. One said 'in the not too distant future, pub watchers will be seen as the real fans [as opposed to those who go to matches]'. What a crock.

WSC is a great read but can drag on a bit.

I only read them in the barbers, and I wont even get that opportunity for much longer.

WSC is a good read, although I do glaze over a bit at their in-depth 3-page spread on the Somalian League Division 2 reserve game between Ombyabaa AyREE-AyREE and the Indomitable Wilderbeasts.

On the whole its a good bog read though, and I continue to be a subscriber.

It's between WSC and fourfourtwo - but they've both gone downhill i think, particularly 442. It hardly justifies £4, there's little in any depth any more, other than stuff about foreign football, which doesn't really interest me.

thedonkeycentrehalf are you a coach?

Yep - volunteer (ie unpaid) coach with the Albion Soccer School in Worthing on a Saturday morning. We have about 80 five to nine year olds each week and are linked with Worthing Town Youth FC who I help out occasionally.

I used to always get Match when I was younger. I don't really like reading anyway apart from the net so I rarely get a magazine. If I had to get one it would be 442 though

WSC for me. I agree that the articles about football overseas do sometimes leave me cold but I still read them. The covers always raise at least a smile and at best a chortle.
