with all these premiership clubs being taken over by foreign investors will english football end up like the english car industry, sold off to benefit other countries' economies?

discuss. is this good or bad or ugly?

I was having this conversation earlier today. And the conclussion was that unless FIFA/UAFA introduce measures like wage caps and the use of a certain number of home grown accademy players, our footballs heading in a very dodgy direction. Its about the only time I wish I was German, the Bunderleage is run so much better.

Whoever owns the club is slightly irrelevant as at the end of the day its the fans that really make a club. .Yes clubs can take a corporate identity but if no fans turn up there isnt much of a club .

None of the clubs in the Premiership under foreign ownership are exactly struggling:

Chelsea: Won two titles
Man Utd: Seem to have money for players
Villa: Challenging for Europe
Fulham: Gone from bottom league to top league

I AM a fair bit krauty - and you're right.

You get lengthy highlights on terrestrial telly at 6pm on a Saturday, you can drink beer in your seat, you get the highest aggregate attendances in Europe, it costs about £10-15 to get in, the stadia are out of this world, the transport links to them fantastic, the standard of play is high and a good mix of skill and strength. And I haven't even mentioned the obviously-outstanding quality of the matchday sausages and beer.

And, best of all, the mighty Zebras of MSV Duisburg are now in the third promotion spot after a convincing and feisty 3-1 away win at nearby rivals Koeln last night, always a good place to be ahead of the winter break.

How exactly will it benefit foreign economies, with the exception of Man Ure there's no profit to be taken out of the clubs.

Yes, I and the German side of my family do that all the time. :shootself :nono:

In fact, so efficient is my own love-making that I've even managed to cut the manpower involved down to just one.
