First home game:

22/3/75 - Cardiff City 0 Sheffield Wednesday 0

First away game:

30/8/75 - Brighton & Hove Albion 0 Cardiff City 1

First home game. Gillingham 1969/70 won 3-1. I still have the program to this day. Their goalkeeper was one Derek Bellotti!!! As a naive nipper, little did I know the significance of the opponents and the goalkeepers name would be in later years!

First away game. Chesterfield 1977. Final game of the season, which saw us gain promotion to the old second division & the start of the Goldstone glory years.

Only 3 at the time, but am I right in thinking that he scored & the highlights were on Match Of The Day.?

He did indeed, within 50 seconds. And the highlights were on MOTD.

1st game:

Reading vs Man Utd at Elm Park. Score 0-3 - 1996
Cantona got coined throughout and made and we ended up getting bollocked by the FA. :(

Goalscorers Cantona, Giggs, and Paul Parker.. who lived next door to my mate in Reading while playing for QPR. Spooky.

Home - against Man City 1988, won 2-1 North Stand went mad, great day, the infamous ball boy heading the ball into the crowd to waste time day.

Away - against Charlton 1991, bit daunting as a kid when Charlton fans chucked stuff over the fence but another 2-1 win!!

The guy who scored City's winner at the Goldstone in 75 (my first away game) now lives just a couple of miles away from me, works for DHL as a driver, and regularly delivers packages to my office. Even spookier!
