Films you thought would be shite....

...but turned out to be good.

Pirates of the Caribbean for me. Went along reluctantly, thinking a film based on a Disney kids ride would be utter shite, and was more than pleasantly surprised. Absolutely cracking film.
Drink up me hearties, yo ho.

Also watched The Scorpion King the other night. Maybe I was in a good mood or something, but I thought it was pretty bloody decent.

Surprised,shocked and shitting myself throughout most of it.Was expecting British budget rubbish from a trendy independant film maker.

Got dragged kicking and screaming into the cinema over here by my fiancee, protsesting that I really did not want to see a chick flick.

However by the end of the movie, I had a lump in my throat, and was amazed how moving the film was.

I had heard 28 days later was great, but I thought it was a big steaming pile of Paul Watson.

I wasnt expecting much from Changing Lanes but it turns out to be a very exciting thriller.

Trainspotting, for years I never saw it until last sunday and I always thought it would be shit.....god no its very good!

Phone Booth. Still not sure how I could enjoy a film that takes place almost exclusively in a phone box.

I refused to go and see it, I would have forced myself to dislike it even if it was any good.

My other half went to see it and came home all gooey and sentimental until see realised the front room smelt of farts and I hadn't done the washing up. Life isnt that romantic unfortunately.

Ice Age - we watched it last Christmas and I thought it would be a kids cartoon kind of thing - it was hysterical!!

got to second Easy 10 as well with Pirates - it was fun!!

I thought Changing Lanes was very disappointing.

Phone Booth sounded crap (an hour and a half of a bloke, err, standing in a phone booth), and it was a Joel Schumacher film (which normally screams "AVOID AVOID AVOID" on the cover to me)...but I thought it was excellent. Cool 5.1 as well on that one.
