Given it ends in the middle of July, the players of any clubs which get to the latter stages won’t have any time off until pre-season. I know this is the same for international tournaments but the difference is this might impacts just a handful of a club’s players…..this will be the entire team.
Presume City and Chelsea will rotate and use the tournament as part of their pre season training?. As you say, its not ideal when the players need a good month off from any football to recuperate/holiday with family.

An excellent discussion about the financial impact of it on the Guardian Football Weekly inc the stat that the winners of the one of the S American leagues gets £360k for their domestic title, but is guaranteed £11m plus just for turning up to this tournament. Similarly the part timers from NZ will bank a few millions just for making the journey - in both cases undermining the competitiveness of the domestic competitions, which of course is one of the objectives a cynic might say.

Is this not similar to smaller countries and the Champion's league?

My minor interest has waned a lot. I've downloaded DAZN but will watch it on a stream (or Channel 5) so they cant put me down as a viewer.
Of course we all know that in years to come a court case will come along and, just like Blatter & Platini, well I'll stop there.

Yeh. I've just seen the other thread on this and all the aleged corruption. I'm losing interest now.
Although a Chelsea v City final would see them shattered by the time they get back.
Any takers on their first two games being moved?

Something has just occured to me and I've mentioned it elsewhere.
Anyone want to put money on both City & Chelsea having their first few games postponed?
Or being drawn against each other game one and being postponed?
