Was the first game a goal fest?
Presume City and Chelsea will rotate and use the tournament as part of their pre season training?. As you say, its not ideal when the players need a good month off from any football to recuperate/holiday with family.Given it ends in the middle of July, the players of any clubs which get to the latter stages won’t have any time off until pre-season. I know this is the same for international tournaments but the difference is this might impacts just a handful of a club’s players…..this will be the entire team.
This.Exactly. Pure money making and I will not be watching at all. Elite sports people need to have a break to be at their best, and surely this only risks injuries.
Honestly, I started watching and nodded off after five minutes. My clever TV went into standby and woke up and I went to bed.Oh bugger. Have I missed and slept through it?
Is this not similar to smaller countries and the Champion's league? An excellent discussion about the financial impact of it on the Guardian Football Weekly inc the stat that the winners of the one of the S American leagues gets £360k for their domestic title, but is guaranteed £11m plus just for turning up to this tournament. Similarly the part timers from NZ will bank a few millions just for making the journey - in both cases undermining the competitiveness of the domestic competitions, which of course is one of the objectives a cynic might say.
I second that! My sole interest for the foreseeable future is the PL fixtures coming out shortly and what our new kit will look like. As for this FIFA World Club bollocks you can shove it down the shitter where it belongs. There us no chance I'm watching that crap.

Zilch..
Money chasing clubs who will moan in a few months their players are tired.
Possibly. I don't know the relative numbers but what it represents is an opportunity for FIFA to circumvent the interests of the regional governing bodies and create a global super league. It's unhealthy. Is this not similar to smaller countries and the Champion's league?
