Bearing in mind Fergie has jumped on the FA for allegedly doing a deal with Arsenal, how about this then re the Ferdinand saga.....
The whole case seems to hinge on whether or not the FA can show from his phone calls whether or not he was contactable or not, and deliberately trying to get out of taking the test. I pose the question, if Rio's service provider is Vodafone, it will be interesting to see if they provide the evidence that will possibly him to a 2 year ban, being they are Man U's sponsors.

Legally have to provide all evidence don't they? You're right though, could be interesting...

Good call. And let's face it, if United do give out company phones, they are going to be Vodaphone kits.

We'll see what sort of stitch up is arranged. Personally, I'd like to see him banned for 12 months but since it is United, expect a one month ban and a 2 weeks wages fine.

I think the longer this sorry saga goes the more dubeity and cover up.

Should have been dealt with there and then and if necessary an appeal.

No credibility left - any decision, whatever, will be deemed a stich up by one or other party.

For once the FA are stuck 'between a rock and a hard place' on this one. On the one hand they are talking a hard line and have FIFA and other institutions on their back telling them to be 'zero tolerance' - FIFA have hinted that they may veto any FA punishment that is too lean. On the other hand Man U and the PFA (and some of the England players) have been like moaning bitches and will cause trouble if there is anything more than a token ban.

Whatever they FA do, someone is going to take them to court, which will prolong the whole process and probably keep Ferdinand out of the England side for some time. I think this is what Fergie wants as he would be delighted if Ferdinand isn't getting picked and the other Man U england players refuse to play for the country. Leaves them fresher for more Man U games then.
