spurs are a big club one of only 3 clubs that make a profit each year in prem, who are bigger charlton?

How can they be a big club? There are at least 5 clubs with higher gates, they have not won the league since 1961 and the only silverware in the last 10 years in one Worthless Cup.

Middle of the road plodders at best, with delusions of grandeur and one almighty chip on their shoulders.

what was the last thing charlton, villa, newcastle, leeds etc won?
the reason other clubs have bigger gates is they have bigger grounds, spurs sell out almost every game

Yeah let's not bother with also runs. We can just watch Man Utd, Arsenal and Chelsea play each other 23 times a season. Or we could simply watch scottish football. So what if they have ideas of grandure. Don't we? If I were a Spurs fan I'd be pretty pissed off too! They used to win the FA cup all the time. The first team to do the double. Now they are also runs and Arsenal are great! I'd be bitter too.

They are all similar sized clubs in stature. At least Newcastle have had a few Champions League appearances.

Spurs have not been a big club since the 1960's and at present are at best London's third club, probably the fourth, on recent league finishes.

Spurs are a sleeping giant who have won far more than some of the current trendy clubs that everyone loves. I hope Santini turns them round, there are few enough clubs challenging in the Premiership, they are one who could. Arsenal are no bigger, just more succesful recently.

But stature has to be measured on success and Spurs have continually finished in the middle to lower reaches of the top division. They finished third in 1990 but have done nothing since and I pretty sure they have not finished in a UEFA Cup place since the reintroduction of English teams into European competition.

There fans have an almighty chip on their shoulders and I do not see why. They make the numbers up and will be living in the Gooners and now Chelseas shadow for a while to come.

we may have finished in the middle of table but you said 4th biggest in london, i assume behind charlton who have not even been in the top flight all the time since the prem,
and yes spurs have been in uefa cup since english teams were allowed back in

Yes I know they have been in the UEFA Cup, but I think the only appearance was as League Cup winners in 1999? The other appearance in Europe was in the Cup Winners Cup in 1991. That means they have finished outside the top 6 since 1990, not all that great really.

All I am saying that like Charlton, Southampton, Bolton, Blackburn etc, Spurs are not a big club and contrary to the Spud's fans beliefs they have not been for a very longtime.

But only over the last ten years? I would say that a club´s tradition has some bearing on how ´big´ they are, are Spurs have got more than a little of that - more than Chelsea, more than Charlton. Not that it really matters how ´big´they are - Spurs will finish in the top six this year, and Defoe is more than a decent bet for top scorer.

As for wearing a Palace shirt over a Spurs one ... :nono:

They will not finish in the top 6, if nothing else the injuries will get them, coupled with that unique Spud like imploding quality that they have. Defoe, well we shall see, but I doubt he will get anywhere near the totals that the like of Henry and Red Rum will clock up.

He won't need to. A top six finish will be assured if they get 25 points less than Arsenal, probably.

spurs dont have that problem with injuries anymore as they have a decent squad now and are signing players all the time they have signed 9 players so fair with englands possible number one among them.
they have i would say a match if not better squad now than man utd.

Arsenal
Chelsea
Birmingham
Liverpool
Manure
Villa
Spurs
Bolton
Middlesbro
Newcashole
Poxsmouth
Blackburn
Everton
Fulham
Sadhampton
Charlton
WBA
Man City
Norwich
the Scum

I think KK will be all weepy again like a sad debauchker, elbowed early-like while his sorry tactics see City drop like a crystal.
