Dear John, there is only one site in Brighton!

Following the decision by John Prescott to re-open the Public Inquiry, Chair of the Falmer For All Campaign Paul Samrah said,

“I am greatly encouraged that the Deputy Prime Minister has not bowed to the NIMBYS and has today moved forward on the Albion’s application for a new stadium at Falmer. Whilst we have always recognised that no perfect site exists, we do strongly believe that the Falmer site is the best of the bunch – the ‘least worst’ if you like.

Thank you to the many thousands of people who have supported our campaign over the last 5 years. We have come a long way together and together we will overcome this final hurdle.

Our intensive lobbying campaign will continue through to the re-opening of the Public Inquiry, taking in the Labour Party Conference in September. Our message will be made loud and clear – There is only one site in Brighton!

Following the Inquiry, we trust there will be a speedy and decisive answer on the question of where Albion’s new permanent home should be.”

Yes, ofcourse....but where? Has anyone come up with any other site which is remotely credible?

The NIMBYs have. At least that's what they'd like everyone to believe. Myself and many others have already noted-they've employed double standards when offering their alternate sites.

"We can't let you build at Falmer because it is an AONB (RIGHT!. We suggest that you build your stadium-it's far more suitable. Don't let the fact that it falls within the proposed boundaries of the National Park".

They have the temerity to suggest Waterhall whilst defending a grubby little field that they all probably use to let their dogs have their morning crap on. A field that already is designated for development of some kind. We all know the rest.

I bet their biggest fear is of losing their doggies' crapping site.

Mavis Saggytits and your blue rinse Little England cohorts-I hate each and every one of you.

Spot on Bwian, well said.
Quite the most nausaeting sight I have seen today was those Falmer NIMBYS quaffing champagne from within their deluded little bubble, seemingly convinced that the accouncement today amounted to the ODPM turning the application down.

Their insufferable arrogance is only matched by their breathtaking ignorance.

We need a wall of blue and white outside the center. Thousands upon thousands. :)
