F1 not in HD

Anyone know why the BBC are not filming F1 in HD

The BBC don't film it (except in Silverstone). It is filmed by the local TV station and then the world feed is supplied to the BBC via FOM (Formula One Management - Ecclestones company).

I don't know why there is no HD, but perhaps there may be a HD feed for Silverstone if the beeb are filming it.

especially upscaling. its been driven by the US where their quality TV was shit and its been great for the TV manufacturers
