Anyone interested in watching a mediocre Conference match on TV can watch the Grecians tonight and suffer the delights that I usually pay £7 for the benefit of, during those long months when I can’t get to an Albion game.

Also, with Exeter facing a 12 point deduction it is good to see Sky Sports News use the opportunity to highlight the state of football clubs in the lower leagues and Conference.

Thanks for that! Despite the quality of the football, I'd rather watch that than the Premiership or European matches any day! I reached saturation point with their coverage ages ago, especially as it's the same "elite" clubs time and time again! Is anyone else fed up with hearing about Beckham and Real Madrid?

I'll always watch decent Nationwide stuff given the chance as well as Prem/Euro stuff. However I do have a quality threshold, and Exeter in the conference falls below that. Virtually a different sport, as we know. After all, we were playing Conference standard football for most of two seasons and I wouldn't have watched that on TV if it had been another club, let me tell you.

Since Doncaster have been promoted, apart conference sides that might be local to us, I don’t any conference side are worth bothering about.

The BIG team news:

Exeter: Bittner, Hiley, Jeannin, Gaia, Todd, Coppinger, Afful, Cronin, Lee, Flack, Devine.
Subs: Rice, Moor, McConnell, Canham, Ampadu.

Dag & Red: Pullen, Mustafa, Kimble, Cole, Matthews, Scully, Bentley, Chris Piper, Lenny Piper, Shipp, Bruce.
Subs: Wilmot, Vickers, Janney, Hill, Braithwaite.

Referee: K Woolmer (Northampton).

Ex Albion loan signing Martin Thomas doesn’t figure, but the talented (when fit) Devine does as well as the not so talented but still legendary Steve Flack.

Weren’t the Albion reported to be interested in signing Mustafa when Adams was in charge?

Just seen flicked over after Eastenders in time to see Dagenham equalize with quite a good goal to make it 1-1, looks like a good game, shame i'm going out shortly!

Why is Exeter facing a 12 point deduction?

Because if you thought what the Arsenal players did against United was out of order you should have seen the Grecians earlier this season!

Seriously though, Exeter City are on a collision course with the Nationwide Conference over plans to land the cash-strapped club with a 12-point deduction.

The Grecians are set to incur the harsh penalty after being granted permission to press ahead with a Corporate Voluntary Arrangement at Leeds Combined Court yesterday.

The Conference drew up plans in the summer to penalise clubs that run up debts that cannot be paid, claiming it gives clubs an unfair advantage over their rivals .

The proposals were rubber-stamped at the Conference's AGM in Blackpool where only Scarborough and Halifax - who both spent recent spells in the hands of administrators - voted against the move.

I thought Exeter started well but then faded badly against ten men before a late rally at the end. I thought Dagenham were the better side and deserved their equaliser.

Afful looked lively but Jeannin in particular was awful. Looks like it might be another season of struggle.
