Albion have asked fans to select their favourite club’s best goal of 2015.
The choice is yours. But which strike do you think the scorer of one of the most iconic goals in the four-and-a-half year history of the Amex has gone for?
Fifteen goals have been shortlisted by the Seagulls from the calendar year and they are asking fans to vote for the one they think is best.
A glance at the list paints a vivid picture of how the year went.
Of the 15, only three come from the second half of the 2014-15 season and they include a freakish effort deflected in by Inigo Calderon off his beard, pictured below.
What could be construed as the only two genuine candidates from last term happened within a few minutes of each other – at home to Ipswich way back in mid-January.
Fast forward to the current campaign and the choice is far more ample, despite the three blanks with which they closed the year.
Of course there are some excellent strikes in there.
Rajiv van La Parra’s at QPR was from the longest range although, as with Bobby Zamora’s winner against Bristol City, the goalkeeper could have done better.
Dale Stephens has an impressive variety of finishes in his selected trio.

But there are perhaps not the outstanding candidates put forward by, for example, Rohan Ince at Swindon or Jake Forster-Caskey at Doncaster in recent seasons.
So how do you judge a top goal? Great move or stunning finish?
Or maybe, you look for a combination of the two?
There are a couple of lovely Gaetan Bong assists among the shortlist.
But how about Beram Kayal at Huddersfield – for three reasons?
The move – tick. The searing shot – tick.
And also something judges perhaps would never take into account – the attitude behind the goal.
The sheer go get ‘em approach with which Albion tore into their hosts from kick-off.
But maybe that is adding too much context.
So who would you choose if you were a man whose best strike at the Amex was celebrated on a banner outside the stadium?
Whose curler off the underside of the South Stand crossbar was voted Albion’s goal of the season as they finished fourth in the Championship.
Some informal research via social media yesterday suggested that some people rate David Lopez’s free-kick against Crystal Palace, pictured below, in 2013 as the most iconic goal seen at the Amex.
Others had it in a top two behind only Will Buckley’s winner against Doncaster in the first league game at the venue.
And others still gave preference to other goals, including one in the same match when Leo Ulloa thumped home a volley at the end of a super move.
“Having watched them all, I go for Kazenga LuaLua versus Forest, “ he told The Argus.
“I think it’s a great piece of individual play.*Above all, with the shot, it’s so difficult to hit the ball so well and with such accuracy as you fall like that.”
