Shit Aaron Connolly, You’re just a shit Aaron Connolly

In all seriousness , it’s time for him to start ahead of welbs . Great to have competition for places

It wasn't ridiculous then. After-timing and hindsight really aren't that clever. He was 17, and a promising youngster in the U21s - nobody would have been surprised or disappointed had he gone out on loan in the summer, and everybody would have been delighted if he had been tearing up League 1. Had he not grabbed his opportunity with both hands when given his chance in the first team, nobody would have been surprised or disappointed if he went out in January.
Now, to coin a phrase, it is what it is. If he carries on like he's started (unlike Connolly, who couldn't sustain his good start and should have been loaned out much sooner) we can all just enjoy having him here.
Speaking of Connolly I saw some of his match last night. He played alright I thought. At the end he seemed to have the respect of his peers, several getting round and chatting to him in a friendly way.

Be interesting to see what Bob deZ makes of him because we know he likes a worker. Say what you like about Connolly he is a grafter.

Seriously now- don't by surprised if the big boys start bidding very soon. Players like this don't come around often.

you're right, they don't. one thing to be a top class player, but a top class number 9 is a different level of valuable. therefore, his price will have to reflect that. there should be at maximum around five clubs who can actually afford him, and if there's more then we're selling him too cheap

Great point if I was talking about pre-season.

But I wasn’t, so…

I'm as excited as anyone on here, but Welbz should always be starting unless RDZ thinks it would be better for Evans development. It's what we pay Welbz for

I liked how he went straight after the ball and didn't need telling after the goal. Other than that he is just a better all round option than Wellbeck and as I was saying earlier in the thread he will be no1 choice by start of next season 100%. I do think the workload he is getting is perfect though. 65 mins next game or him on at 65. Wellbeck and honestly not alot of strikers work defenders that many ways. He is the profile of the complete forward and even at 18 he is far more aggressive than Wellbeck. His movement is super intelligent too.

One thing I would say is with him on the pitch Brighton should put it in the box quicker out wide. Lamptey cutting back on to his left foot was very frustrating to watch. He needs feeding and has to know crosses are coming so he can time them.

He is probably already worth 50 million or 100 if you are Chelsea :ROFLMAO: . I hope he stays at Brighton. I do worry he 90% of the time ends up at Man United.

Welbeck doesn’t score anything like enough goals. That’ll bite us on the bum at some point.
Ideally there would be a third option - it’s not as if having three strikers is excessive.

Without a proper centre forward we wouldn’t have unlocked a deep lying team running down the clock for a 2-1 win. EF changes so much for us, another avenue to get results, instead of the passing game.
