The third Test between England and West Indies will begin an hour late at 1130 BST after overnight rain left the Old Trafford outfield waterlogged.

England are to field the same XI who won the second Test at Edgbaston, with Simon Jones missing out.

West Indies fast bowler Fidel Edwards gains a recall as Jermaine Lawson is ruled out with a side strain.

Carlton Baugh takes the gloves from the injured Ridley Jacobs, while Sylvester Joseph and Dave Mohammed also play.

England go into the match looking for a 3-0 series lead and a sixth consecutive victory.

"We're in a great position at 2-0 with two to play but we must maintain the same level of performance," said skipper Michael Vaughan.

"We've all had a good week off at home but it's great to turn up and see the excitement in the lads' faces."

"When you see that you feel you'll get a good performance."

Two further changes are possible for the tourists - spinner Dave Mohammed may replace Omari Banks with, while batsman Sylvester Joseph is also in the frame.

Brian Lara is urging his West Indies team to get out of the blocks early.

"Our plan is to try and set the pace," he said.

"Any good Test-playing nation sets the pace, takes the lead and tries to stay in front. That will be our challenge for this Test match.

Geoffrey Boycott's wicket report:

"What are all these little green areas? If this was my garden i'd be putting weed killer on them, have you seen them? Unbelievable!"

Nice one Geoffrey.

Gayle the man out too. Caught Strauss, bowled Hoggard (he's getting back to some very dangerous form).
