Who do you hate more when it comes to Footy?

England Fans seem to hate the Scottish most.

Scotland cheered for Argentina & Brazil against England.

Wales...they're Welsh...'nuff said!.

Personally I hate the Welsh more (as I support Cowdenbeath ) when it comes to footy although the Great Gascoigne goal against the Scots will long live in my memory as a splendid occasion....and then McAllisters penalty miss :D

I cant wait for Saturday...and I'm gonna LOVE it if we hammer those Welsh wotsits!

Gascoigne goal against us was one of the worst moment sof my footballing life.

I would have bet my house on McCallister to score that penalty and as I was stood in stunned sience that fat bastard had to rub it in.

One of the great moments was Don Hutchinson scoring at Wembley as we totally outplayed you overtated idiots and that christian Dailliy (or was it David weir) brought out an amazing save from Seaman with seconds to go - header from a corner I believe.

Not a big fan of the Welsh and the Paddys, well they're a bit of a joke as they really are a Premiership B team. At least we are having to out our house in order and the majority of our player s are from Scotland and play in scotland.

I read once that on his Irish debut against Poland I think, Andy Townsend was stood next to Mick McCarthy as the national anthems played. As the music droned on, Townsend turned to McCarthy and said @Bloody hell Mick, this Polish one goes on for ages.

McCarthy loks back and says "shut up Andy.....this is our one."

sums them all really.

The Welsh are never that popular at the best of times, but with Robbie Savage in their midfield, well...

:(

I was at Wembley when Gazza scored against the Jocks, what truly Marvellous Scenes!
I can't get worked up about the Welsh, but whoever Scotland play I want the opposition to win, that includes Argentina, Germany and Wales.

I don't give a toss about the other home nations. I don't like to see them getting humiliated as it reflects badly on us, we're all British after all, but I don't really care if they win or lose. Our (England's) big rivals are Germany and the team we 'hate' is Turkey. The various assorted pub players who make up the other British teams don't really register.

PS - Why don't Northern Ireland merge with the Republic like they do for Rugby and Boxing (to name but two sports)?

Sorry Digweed its not personal, but a huge great generalisation.
Its like hating Palace, I have actually got a Palace mate, although I'd appreciate it if you didn't tell anyone.

I was at that game and also the one at Hampden where England won 2-0 thanks to Mr Scholes. As was sung that day 'where's your famous Hampden roar?'. Nothing like silencing the provinces.

Typical Scots view DT, we played you off the park and should have beaten you. You lost the tie end of we qualified and although we were crap at Euro 2000 at least we were there.

In answer to the original question Scotland and Digweed has answered why, by showing the usual chip on shoulder that so many of his countrymen have when it comes to England.

Thing is you talk about the Celtic chip on the shoulder - but in the predictions thread yesterday there was...

That's really racist! The Welsh aren't Sub-Human at all - they're semi-human.

[My father-in-law is Welsh, my wife is half-Welsh and my son consequently is a quarter Welsh, just a bit of banter]

Quite. I'll be 100% behind Scotland when they're 100% behind England. Which will hopefully be never as I like all the 'over the garden wall' posturing and chit-chat!

Quite right. I can't believe Digweeds Trousers followed up a rant on the English with a "what have the scots ever done to you?" line!

I quite like to see them all win. Wales have done well of late and I wanted them to qualify for Euro2004. Scotland are fast becoming the laughing stock of football and it will not be long before Northern Ireland are better than them.

Used to want Eire to do well too, even though they are nothing to do with UK or GB.

Until these teams are on a par with us I do not see them as rivals, the same way I feel about other Sussex teams.
