Slightly off the coppel track (but I am bored with it now so SC just go)..... ahem

Who do you think should go up front. If I were Sveny I would be on the blower to Mr Shearer now. He would be ideal in this situation and he is still the best striker in England by a mile.

Rooney will be wound up by the Turks from start to finish and I can see him being carded.

Heskey is a pile of Shite

Beattie is good but uproven at this level

Owen is struggling with injury

Rooney is not a striker - he cant play behind the defence. He needs to run at the defence.

Nev Campbell Ferd Cole

Bex Gerrard Scholes

Rooney
Beattie Vassell (heskey waiting on bench)

In my computer
not sure about Rooney - see photo in this mornings metro I believe.... anger management classes very shortly required and its the kind of game where that will not do England any favours!!

No to Rooney, to inexperienced.

It should be Heskey and Vassell, they have both played in big games.
Heskey, no matter what anyone says, it quality and will cause all sorts of problems as well as holding the ball up.
Vassell is the next best thing to Owen and should definitely play i reckon, he is class.

Rooney was superb when we played the home tie, not 1 spat of bad temperment, hes the man for the job,

Heskey is rubbish, and according to BBC Ferdinand is out. Southgate is injured too. Heskey shouldn't be anywhere near the national team. If Owen's not fit I would go:

Kirkland

Neville, Campbell, Terry, Cole

Beckham, Gerrard, Butt, Scholes

Rooney, Beattie

Hither (sometimes Thither)
Vassell was out injured and looked good on his comeback. I also like that he has the head of a 47 year old man.
If we have smaller men up front, then we are forced into playing a shorter passing game. Alpay is a great big turd of a man and will be outdone by pace and trickery.
Saying that, big Emile would be fine by me. With Vassell and Rooney just behind.
If the Turks get their passing and confidence going, then we could get stuffed, so we have to come out, close them down and attack. An early goal or two will kill them.
