No thread? (Apologies if already started elsewhere)

Novel one for me - If you have to be stuck in a hospital bed what better way to spend an evening - looking forward to this.

  • England has not won last 6 matches against Italy national team
  • Italy's first-ever international game against England football team was held on 13 May 1933 in Rome and finished with a score of 1-1
  • Prediction: draw 1-1

Decent Italian side. Should be a tight match. A great one to open a qualifying campaign. I won't be joining with the many cynics on this.

I'm a bit late to the party with this one.
I've only heard in the last few days that we also have Ukraine on Sunday at Wembley.
I don't even know which other countries are in our group or how many teams automatically qualify.

Time to head to the BBC Sport website to do a bit of research....

I assumed it was a friendly. But, no - it's a proper game.

I expect England to be dull, and shit. Because that's what they are. However, still settling myself down in front of tv as I type, preparing to YET AGAIN throw away two hours of my life that I'll never get back watching dull shittery. Or maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. Trying to bamboozle the football gods with reverse psychology and bluff and double bluff, you see.

It's a pretty tough group compared to some of the others, Portugal's for instance.
