England: M Vaughan (capt), M Trescothick, V Solanki, A Strauss, A Flintoff, P Collingwood, G Jones (wkt), A Wharf, A Giles, S Harmison, D Gough.
Australia (probable): R Ponting (capt), M Hayden, A Gilchrist (wkt), D Martyn, A Symonds, D Lehmann, M Clarke, M Kasprowicz, J Gillespie, G McGrath, B Lee.
Anyone watching this - looks like (from Cricinfo) that Gilchrist is trying his luck with a few shots - still, I guess thats the way he plays. Showing a bit of respect to Harmison - 2nd ball over 90mph - very impressive.
7.6 Harmison to Hayden, OUT: Gone! full ball, outside off, goes for the drive, big edge in the hands of Trescothick at first slip, this time he makes no mistake and takes it comfortably.
Gilo got Ponting but then dropped Martyn 3 balls later. We simply have to take all chances against Australia to beat them. Do you think this preys on their minds thus creating more pressure when these chances come along?
We can't afford for them to have 5 or 6 wickets left with 10 overs to go to let Symonds loose. he is their Freddie and could take them to 280 if we aren't careful. However, get him in and out within 5 overs and we could restrict them to 240 (optimistic). 265 more likely I reckon.
Thank GOD. Symonds out for a duck, if we take another wicket soon we're down to Lee and the rest of the bowlers and could keep them to a moderate score.
Great period of play for us. Lehman, Martyn and Symonds out in the space of 20 minutes. Let's keep the tail quiet and we could be chasing a relatively low target.
