Me and a few friends had a long discussion on the team we would take to Poland/Ukraine. (May be a bit early i know) Also basing it on current form.

After writing up a big lists of names i we agreed on a team...

----------------------- Hart
Walker---------Dawson ------- Lescott --------Cole
-----------------------Jones-----------------

Johnson -------------- Parker(C) ------------Young

---------------------- Rooney
----------------------Welbeck

Bench: Foster? (not to sure on a keeper other than Hart) Richards, Cahill(Depends what form he hits for Chelsea) otherwise Smalling, Chamberlain, Carrick or Milner, Gerrard/Lampard (whoever is on better form) Defoe

The idea of Carrick in the team is that his not been to bad recently and for Man Utd always knows when to play the ball to Rooney,Welbeck and Young. Together i believe they would play well. Cahill could start as CB instead of Lescott if he does well for Chelsea for the rest of the season. Only one of Gerrard or Lampard on the bench, i believe its time for other players and Parker has been good for Spurs and in my opinion would make a great captain. Maybe even play Chamberlain ahead of Johnson?

Either take Zamora or Sturridge with the squad (my bias was towards Zamora). Wilshere wont be fit for the Euros. Did think of the likes of Huddlestone and Livermore but thought maybe for the world cup. Would take Baines with the squad as cover for LB.

Wondering what other people thought.

nothing wrong with that (assuming cole/Walker round the wrong way). Though i'd start with Gerard/Parker in the middle, and i'd personally prefer Sturridge over Welbeck, but its marginal. in the squad, i'd expect Barry to go, probably in place of Carrick.

your team would get us knocked out straight away! cole right back for a start? WTF!

hart
richards - smalling - lescott - cole
gerrard (c) - parker - wilshere
sturridge/walcott - rooney - welbeck/chambermaid

subs: any other english goalie in form, jones, cahill, g.johnson, baines, milner, carrick, lampard, rodwell, sturridge/walcott, welbeck/chambermaid, zamora, a.johnson, a.young

Hart picks himself.
richards IS the best english right back! hes an animal, can defend and bomb forward. the others are good but richards is a different beast!
smalling is a brilliant defender and adds height. lecsott has been the best english CB this season.
gerrard? workrate/goals, parker? leader/workrate, wilshere? our xavi, makes the game tick. if hes not fit it'll be a real shame and id have jones/milner depending on opponent.
sturridge, rooney, welbeck? tricky, more powerful approach.
walcott, rooney, chambermaid? PACE!

p.s. BARRY AND TERRY CAN STAY AWAY! both USELESS!

Obviously i've got Cole and Walker the other way round and yes Richards and Walker..was very close between them.
But i do not believe we would be knocked out immediately

I really rate Smalling, if he's fit. For RB, I don't mind between Richards (if his head is right), but I've been v.impressed with Walker.
Don't think Wilshere will be fit. Would not have Walcott (prefer A.Young) - he has not improved at all in 5 years. Paxo Cumberbund has improved better in a much shorter time for The Arse.
Personally I prefer Welbeck to Sturridge, but there's not a lot between them.
