I'm not a great egg-chasing fan, but I thought I'd give it a whirl this afty and watch the England v Georgia match.

Its good to have a team thats amongst the best in the world at something, but christ, what an absolute one-sided bore that was today. Whats the point of having the likes of Georgia there to make up the numbers ? As the score ticked over into the 60's, and the umpteenth try was scored, even the England fans were looking thoroughly underwhelmed by it all. I nearly choked on me Mackeson when the commentator said "what a good work-out for England that was" - yeah, right.

The South Africa match should be good, and I'll tune in if we play the Aussies or the Kiwis, but I think I'll be a bit more selective with that tournament in future...

I have to agree with you, there is no point having crap teams just to make up the numbers. However I enjoyed it, good stress-free viewing after Turkey last night!

Not really - there's more of a chance of an upset in football than there is in rugby. Superior teams in rugby simply dominate the whole proceedings. With Brazils defence, there's always a chance for the opposition to score (Brazil v Costa Rica being a case in point).

As a spectacle, that Georgia match was just a non-event for me.

All nations should be given a chance. How else will they learn how to play better rugby?

Does anyone recall the goal England conceeded after 90 seconds a while back? OK we stuffed Malta 7-1 in the end, but rugby shouldn't just be about England, SA, OZ & NZ, should it?

Just because they're crap doesn't mean they don't have the right to play for their country in the big stage.
Gotta agree with that...

Brighton were crap in the 1st division last year for the first third of it... I bet other teams fans were saying how shit we were and what are we doing in division 1 etc... But we deserved to be there, we won the 2nd division and earned the right, just like Georgia deserved to be in the rugger world cup, they came through qualifying and even shocked Russia on the way to earn their right to be there.

It is complicated, btid. If you get bored, look out for people like Johnson punching, stamping and kicking opposition during mauls and scrums. Quality.:clap2:
