Empty seats

Ever since we moved back to Withdean we have nearly sold out each game but lately there are more and more empty seats.

I go to almost all away games - live in the midlands but don't come to many home games mainly because I've always believed that I wouldn't get a ticket. Late applying to get a Plymouth ticket
but got one easily

What is the reason for the empty seats not being filled - why don't we sell tickets on the gate at home games??

i usually get to home games by getting late tickets. After the past few performances they can stick their £20.

I dont get a £20 football experience and withdean is shite.

this does not mean i sont support the albion tho.

someone told me that Charlton home games are £20 - if i was a 12 year old kiddie i would have a long hard think about where to spend my football watching pennies.

Because Withdean is a horrible place to watch football,
You're open to the elements,
there's no roof and therefore no atmosphere
and the football's been pretty crap this season

why don't we sell tickets on the gate at home games??

Council restrictions mean that all games must be all-ticket with no tickets being sold at the stadium on Matchdays.

Can't wait for Falmer !! :clap2:

Why the feck was the whole area of the opposition half empty. Could we not sell some of those seats ?.

I'd say a bad cock up by the club.

Must have known these were free therefore 200 odd kids could have seen the game and become potential new fans for Falmer.

Not a lot of point trying to sell them until all the home tickets are sold really:lolol:

Well that must be a special deal because I went there before Christmas (to see the game v Newcastle) and we paid a lot more than that. From memory the adult tickets were £37.50 and the child ones £34.00. I'm not sure not sure exactly because I didn't buy them directly myself but I remember there wasn't much differentiation between the Adult and Child price.

Maybe CAFC Matt can say?

The returned away tickets were not offered for sale.

The stewards had to go into the Barnsley fans when the second penalty was taken.

Maybe the club thought it wiser not to have Brighton fans too near Barnsley fans (I wouldn't blame them - South Yorkshire people are a dodgy lot)

The sad thing is that 300 odd empty seats translates into over 6000 quid in lost revenue...all because these visiting teams don't send the tickets back in time for the Albion to sell them to local fans.

6 grand per home game = 2 or 3 players' salaries at this level-2 or 3 new players could have a hell of an impact on our season and consequently make tickets desirable again.

It's pathetic that the likes of Barnsley cannot sell 650 tickets for a Saturday afternoon game against a playoff rival while they are in the playoff spots.

The Albion should make visiting clubs pay up front for their ticket allocation and if they send back a shitload of unsold tickets too late for the Albion to do anything with them then they forfeit the the ticket money. It's not a cup game we're talking about that has to be arranged pretty hastily-it's league games that they've known about since July last year for fcuks sake!
