Email tax scam

Be careful people just had a tax scam email which looked really legit from "HMRC" saying i was due a tax rebate which if you click on it takes you to a fake HMRC site then asks for your bank details.

these were about months ago and people on here including me were getting 40-50 a day.

or is this a new new new one ?

its a new new one, i had the fake site open next to the real one and it was a proper mirror image.

If you are due a rebate then it will be made by a payable order unless you have requested it electronically and HMRC already hold your bank details.
