I've been on Paradise Poker on and off for a couple of hours now and am £13569.75 up on the evening. Its my first time and I started with a grand. Surely I should now start playing with real cash cos its like taking sweets off a kid (or whatever that saying is). OR does it suddenley change and I would lose my wad in 10 mins???? Advice please berfore the credit card gets a right seeing to.

The level of players playing for real is MUCH higher and won't get rinsed so easily, I'd keep playing the demo money for a while, see whether you can keep that up for a few days and see how you go.

Is it Pacific or Paradise poker you've been using? Well anyway, they take a % of the pot. Hardly noticeable (only a couple of $)but when you consider the amount of hands played they rake it in.

It's really easy to win money on the demo play though, i'm on over £12k alltogether, and i've only been playing poker for a little over a month now, only really good to get a feel for the game and it's not a true indicator of your ability as a player.

For instance with demo money, bluff's hardly ever come into it and slow-play doesn't happen. If anyone has a hand, generally they raise, it's easy to read and easy to rape the money of them, play for real (even just for really small stakes) and you'll realise the difference. (I'll stick to the demo money) If you want to play for money, I suggest organising a game with a few mates, as the reality of the money you're betting is much higher as it's infront of you and doesn't still feel "virtual".

Good luck!

I'm playing a tournament on William Hill right now. Cost $6 to enter and I stand to win $112. Current chip leader, will let you know how it goes...
