Albion suffered a derby nightmare as two Glenn Murray goals helped send them to a 3-0 defeat at Crystal Palace.
The Seagulls were up against it from the seventh minute when Lewis Dunk was sent-off.
But they had complaints over the two spot kicks awarded against them in the second half to add to Murray’s 38th-minute opener.
Dunk failed to cleanly control a routine pass from Bruno and, as the ball ran away from him, tripped the goalbound Yannick Bolasie just outside the box.
The defender was shown a straight red and the ten men’s disciplined rearguard action was eventually breached 31 minutes later in routine style when Murray headed home from a corner.
Albion made a bright start to the second period and almost created an immediate equaliser as Ashley Barnes robbed Wilfried Zaha and sent Craig Mackail-Smith in on goal – but his shot hit the outside of the near post.
Murray doubled his tally from a hotly disputed 54th-minute penalty as Albion claimed he dived as Tomasz Kuszczak dived at his feet.
Owen Garvan added the third, also from the spot, on 71 minutes after Gordon Greer was adjudged to have impeded Murray as they waited for a cross at the far post.
To add to the Seagulls’ misery, they lost Andrea Olandi in the first half to what looked like a knock to the ribcage area.
