Don't Argue With The Ref...
A South African football referee shot a coach dead and injured two players for questioning his decision to hand out a yellow card to one of their team members during a match, police said yesterday.
The incident occurred in the southern seaside town of Kenton-on-Sea on Saturday during a game involving two local teams, police inspector Mali Govender told the SAPA news agency.
The referee, enraged when a coach questioned his decision, whipped out a shotgun and fired a shot, which killed the coach and injured two players from his team.
He then fled the stadium, Govender said, adding that police expected to arrest him soon.
