I agree (and acknowledged) it was very well put together. I just don’t agree with the content.
Of course you don’t - it’s a Democratic POV - with a touch of embellishment perhaps! 🙂

Serious question. Is this a cut and paste job or do you really live in Texas?

Your location says Brighton?
Why don't you 'do your own research' and find out...?

A really good opinion pice by Victor Davis Hanson.

So you've posted a link to a republican supporting site, and claim it's a really good opinion piece by the man who wrote 'The Case for Trump'?

You might as well get a really good opinion from Trump himself.

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders responded to the Axios report with a statement defending the president's work ethic:

"The time in the morning is a mix of residence time and Oval Office time, but he always has calls with staff, Hill members, cabinet members and foreign leaders during this time. The President is one of the hardest workers I've ever seen and puts in long hours and long days nearly every day of the week all year long. It has been noted by reporters many times that they wish he would slow down because they sometimes have trouble keeping up with him."

Here you go, quoted from the BBC article so it may even be true. Sarah Sanders is a far more reliable source than left wing Axios, the source BBC used for its hit piece.

Sarah Sanders is a Republican! She's hardly going to slag him off is she.

And why was she having to defend his work ethic in the first place? Obviously because people had noticed he wasn't working much.

It's cut and paste, I don't think One Love was trying to pretend otherwise:

She was defending Trump’s ‘‘work ethic’ because she had specifically been asked about the Axios Report (which I quoted above) which looked at how Trump spent his days in the WH (also quoted above).

Well we can all agree that she is a stand up trustworthy woman, and if she says Trump works hard, that's good enough for me.

Which is why I started it with

And another opinion

Sorry thought that was obvious
It was still a great piece

Sarcasm? I honestly find it difficult to tell I’m afraid! 😕 - I wasn’t defending Saunders in any way.

Neither was @Triggaaar . You have misunderstood. He was being facetious. All is good 👍
Thanks - I thought he was but as I said, I find sarcasm hard to translate - I just wasn’t sure if my post about Saunders defending Trump had been misunderstood as me defending her because I thought the sarcasm was directed at me rather than laughing with me - the trials and tribulations of a neurodivergent brain 😂! 👍

Me too (neurodivergent). Misunderstandings are a daily occurrence. Luckily on an anonymous forum one can assume the best without fear of actual jeopardy if you have misunderstood and reacted. One can apologise (also easy on an anonymous forum) and move on, whistling surreptitiously and hoping nobody has noticed. Ahem. 😉

Yep those 6 corporate bankruptcies don't happen on their own.

Out of how many start ups and what do you define as bankruptcies? I can think of 2 successes of the top of my head, The Apprentice TV series or was it 12 seasons? Also his Golf courses. I know his Trump university came a cropper but his truth social has potential which is what it was sold on.

Sorry to be a little pedantic but you're continually misspelling Sanders. That's very Trumpist🤣 (see "stollen")

Great post and brilliant narrative of the definition of populism described by Alastair Campbell recently.

1. Populism seeks to exploit problems rather than solving them.

2. Populism seeks to divide the population rather than unite it.

Both, of course, are highly effective distraction techniques for those who only seek money, power and influence through politics rather than a greater good for their electorate and Country.

Mr Trump and Mr Johnson personify this particular definition. And when they are called out, we’re reminded that politicians are all the same so you may as well vote for one with a bit of personality.
First AC or Tony Blairs spin doctor, you don't get to change definitions just to suit your political agenda. I looked it up and its mercifully short(Below).

Populism just means uniting the people against corruption, solutions to this problem are different from left to right but that is standard. You think letting 7 million plus people in in 3 years worth 14 extra congressional seats when redistricting is done is not corruption? How crap are your politics that you need to import voters illegal and otherwise to top up your voter base? The media isn't reporting it and that is also corruption. When you elect politicians to do A but they do the opposite that's corruption. And irony alert, when you you try to change the definition of words to suit your purpose thats corruption.

Trump is trying to unite the people against the establishment, when he left Fulton Jail he drove through poor/black areas and was well received, that's one of the ways he reaches out to different groups. He us not playing the divide and rule tactic of "White men evil".

As for the article you quoted "Sample of one" and Hmmmmmmmmm.

That’s ok - at least I can spell ‘Buonanotte’ which seems to be a stumbling block for 50% of NSC posters 🤣

I thought ‘popularism’ in politics a range of policies that embrace the idea that the ‘elite’ is set against the masses/the ‘people’ - it doesn’t presume corruption of the elite

When was Trump in Fulton? I must have missed that - so many court cases and indictments over the years, it really has been impossible to keep up.😎
