ECB have announced this -

County Championship

No change

Twenty 20

Now called a P20 competition.
2 Divisions - North & South, 9 teams in each division
Played in June & July, mainly Thursday - Sunday
Finals day later in the Summer

3rd Competition

Exact format to be decided (2x 20 over innings per side is one option)
Matches to be played on Sundays through the Summer.

So what has happened to the 50 over trophy and a day out at lords what the hell are the ECB up to once again.:annoyed::annoyed:

I can't imagine that it has been dropped, perhaps excluded from the press release for some reason? Pro40 would have worked well if it were on Sundays and it was televised to much of the population as opposed to the SKY berks. Sunday League ROCKED.

The day the 50 over cup ends, will be the day I slowly stop following domestic Cricket.

The ECB are clearly run by idiots. How can removing the 50 over competion be a good thing? 2020 is good at introducing youngsters to the game, but what will they go onto if there is nothing between 2020 and a county game. And what an earth is the 2 innings idea all about? Lets see if we can get a full county game into 5 minutes. Madness.
They say there was little appetite for the early test series in May, ignoring the fact that the Windies were stand in for Sri Lanka who had pulled out, and cleverly side stepping the ludricous amount they charge for test tickets. Charge £20-£30 Lords would be full. (MCC would still make money from the silly bar prices) but at £50 plus it was no wonder no one went (Except may be me) It beggars belief it really does!

High up on the South Downs.
ECB = Typical British management. Short term decisions and hefty salaries for those at the top who move on and are never held to account for their incompetence.

ECB make the FA look like balanced and wise administrators.

Who knows, maybe a thrilling FP final in front of a packed house at Lord's might have swayed the verdict.

Instead you had a game that was over before noon, and a third of the ground empty (though I agree the pricing was all wrong this year). For some wavering administrators, a final nail in the coffin?
