Given that Hinshelwood was appointed the last time we appointed from within, it makes me wonder whether Booker even wants to be manager. Surely if he'd applied last time, he would have got the nod over the youth manager?

So do you think Bob want the number 1 spot. I have no inside knowledge, I just suspect not.

He applied for the job last time (or the time before) so I guess he did want it then. Whether he wants it now after what happened to Hinsh is another thing.
If I see him I'll ask for you.

I don't know whether he would want to manage or not but I personally think he is better off staying put for now....

I don't care if he wants it or not - he's (hopefully) not getting it.

He has expressed an interest (if the job becomes available  ).

Our problem is that Bob may want the job, doesn't get and gets pissed off and then pisses off. We then have a new manager with no knowledge of the players-something that all incoming managers have had thanks to his being at the club.

He is almost as important to the club as the manager so DK has a tough call on this one.

Ehm, where exactly is Booker going to go ?
The way I see it there isn't many jobs going at the moment for someone with his skills (that is not a critisism)
Everyone below Manager level at 2/3 div clubs at the moment fear that they are going to be the next to go as cash flow gets tighter and tighter and most are glad of the work
There are probably hundreds of ex managers players and coaches for the 50 or so positions currently filled, without even starting to look at any of these being vacant !
DK's call is not tough at all, unless Worthing start looking for a manager !

Maybe not as a manager, but he's highly regarded as a number two. For instance he's already turned Micky down once.

Not that I think he's going anywhere mind you

So what's the bigger risk? We make him manager and he emulates the two Woodies? Or we don't make him manager and upset and being overlooked again he goes off to Leicester or wherever?

That would be a blow I grant you as he is an excellent Number Two - probably one of the best in the business. I still think it's the lesser risk though.
