Just received a request from a client for a report by dinnertime today.

Now, some people (like me) have lunchtime and dinnertime. Some have dinnertime and teatime.

So - if you were asked to do something by dinnertime, when would you expect it to have to be done?

You WEIRDO

You have breakfast in the morning, lunchtime at lunchtime (around midday/one) and dinnertime in the evening.

Dinnertime has got to be the evening, coz u have lunch at lunchtime.
Ask the spanner to be more specific.

I have lunch in the middle of the day and dinner at night but in a work situation I would think they meant by mid-day, and put the wording down to their ignorance.

Sorry, Bozza. Tell the client they are a WEIRDO, not you.

Are they from up north, most of them BUMPKINS think you have dinner at lunchtime. There is a bloody good reason why it's called lunchtime innit.

classic Simpsons quote:

Marge: What's brunch?
Jacques: You'll love it. It's not quite breakfast, it's not quite lunch, but it comes with a slice of cantaloupe at the end. You don't get completely what you would get at breakfast, but you get a good meal.

More options, please. Dinner for me tends to be circa 8.30pm, just when all the crap makeover programmes are on, hence the decline of "TV dinners" in my household.

But are you likely to have the report ready in time if they mean lunchtime ?

Me too, or later.

But in the context of this question, that's not relevant really.

Just what I was thinking Yorkie.
Lunch at school was always "dinnertime". After all, you had Dinnerladys, not Lunchladys.

"I'm going to kick your f***ing head in at dinnertime" - that didn't mean he'd come round my house at 6pm to violate me - my beating would take place in the playground at around 12.45 during DINNERTIME break.

Supper is a snack before bed.
Reserved primarily for persons under the age of 9, milk and cookies should suffice.

Twaddle ! I always enjoy a huge bowl of cocopops just before bedtime.
