Dihydrogen Monoxide - The Truth
http://www.dhmo.org/truth/Dihydrogen-Monoxide.html

I was chased* all the way home by the bullet-like condensed frozen form of
Dihydrogen Monoxide yesterday from the west. Luckily I lived in the east.

(* I am not really the target.)

It has even been known to reduce attendances at football grounds, including and especially at Withdean.

He talked about it in 'The Complete History of Almost Everything' in those terms. Albeit, that website's version was a bit longer. Whaddaya mean you've never heard of Bill Bryson? He wrote Notes From a Small Island, which for some reason became a best-selling travelogue in the late 80s/early 90s.

PS: I thought it was ironic, especially as it shows that people will believe almost anything on a bad day .... like believing a muddy field near Falmer is a something more than a muddy field. Actually, not many people actually do, one in a thousand at most.

That site is absolutly marvellous. Its had alot of serious people up in arms about the Dihydrogen Monoxide issue. Recently a Town/City/County in the US actually proposed to ban it

As to the original author, i believe the site predates Bill Brysons book, which was out in 2000 (??) while i recall reading the site (or at least being aware of the problems of Dihydrogen Monoxide) sometime around '98

Not for whales though. Not if they swallow it.

and if you freeze a block of Dihydrogen Monoxide and drop it on someone's head, that'll give a new meaning to the phrase sticks and stones may break your bones but Frozen Dihydrogen Monoxide dropped from a great height will always kill you*

*Slightly paraphrased

The name Pende comes from an old Anglo-Saxon word Pynding which roughly translated means "impounded water". Just in case you didn't know.
