Just reading Jamie Redknapps article and he points out Gus' son playing for Charlton u18s! Says how good he is as a centre midfielder and one to look out for!! and he's played for England too! Jamie Redknapp Blog : Robin Van Persie Reminds him of Hoddle | The Players Net
This has probably been talked about before but it is news to me!
Anyone know anymore about him? Could he be a future Brighton player???

Not seen him play but highly rated by those who have. Was England U17 captain last year I believe. Charlton also have the England U16 captain. Our academy was just about the only thing that didn't get downgraded in our fall from grace and is acknowledged as one of the top 2 or 3 outside the prem league. Gus v happy with charlton for his son and has said many times his son wouldn't want to play for a team he managed. That might change but when Diego does go I expect it to be a big six team. We've sold teens to lpool, arsenal and manu in past 18 months. Diego rotting in Chelsea reserves in a couple of years wouldn't surprise me :(

they change captains quite frequently to give everyone a "go" i believe

Indeed. Plus there's so many damn teams U16/U17/U18/U19/etc. Just know there was a point last season when two adjacent yeared England teams were captained by Poyet and Cousins off of us. Might only have been for one weekend I guess!

Anyone else follow Diego on Twitter? I do enjoy his anti Palace and Saints tweets and support for the Albion.

Is that true about Gus not wanting him as he would be too harsh? Shame as hes obviously talented and cant imagine he wouldnt want to come here.

Does anyone know if he ever played with JFC for England? Real football pedigree there!

Any chance of him getting a game for your lot in the future?

PS I love his Twitters too. Not a pro player with us yet, still youth, won't play for the team his dad runs (both have said so), hope he stays with us as long as possible, reckon he will end up - sooner or later - at Chelsea, hope we get a decent enough (750k--ish) wedge for him, but rather we could keep him...

Fair enough, hope you keep him and he gets a few games then rather than going to Chelsea and rotting in their reserve team like most kids they sign.

His Tweets are amusing and different to most of the young players on there, I can actually understand what he says! And he doesnt seem to go to Nandos every night.

Always a conflict of interest when a son plays for his father, Poyet junior has a lot of talent like his father but I can't see this happening.

Charlton's accadamy is excellent, and Gus has said he is very happy for his son to be there.
