Is this for real?! Embarassing episode for all except Dick.

The ‘fan(s)’ who shared this on social media are a disgrace and should be banned themselves and what a pathetic response from the club to insist on Dick stepping aside as honourary president for 10 matches. It’s a non story.

Look after your own, and someone who has done more for this club than nearly anyone, rather than trying to score points for being righteous.

We don't really know how the discussions between DK and the club went do we? He says in his statement 'agreeing to step aside from his role for 10 games' you call it 'banning'. I'm not going to pretend I know how that went, but the statement seems pretty sincere, and perhaps Dick offered to step aside? Perhaps he was genuinely embarrassed. I don't know. Do you know the club just banned him and forced a statement from him?
The Club didn't need to speak to him about the incident AT ALL all as far as I'm concerned. Like I said, it was a storm in a teacup. Nobody died. Nobody was injured. This all would have been quickly forgotten as a fairly inconsequential non-incident.

Except now it won't. Because he's serving a PUNISHMENT over it for the next 10 games and had to make a grovelling public statement about something that all amounted to the square root of f***-all. Whatever way you slice it, that is a cuffing disgrace.

Look, we all understand that as a paid employee of the club you have to follow the company line but, sometimes it is best not to comment.
I think Chailey has a point, I don't think DK is annoyed with the Albion staff, he's annoyed with the Brentford stewards not letting him in, it's pretty clear the Albion staff quickly help resolve his entry.

I didn't go to Brentford, my mate's went, and one was furious that with his son he had his wallet searched and everything when he hadn't been drinking and felt unfairly singled out. I think a lot went on with regard to trialing ticket checks and Albion staff being there to spot check certain collections.

So with all that in mind, lots going on etc. your club representive kicking off is not a good look - I'm not sure you can just pretend it didn't happen once the real idiots in this - the albion fans that filmed it, decided to share it.

Now I agree, maybe a storm in a teacup, but we don't know how the conversation between Dick and club went, maybe Dick offered that up, perhaps he's off on holiday for the next 10 games anyway, who knows, however I doubt Dick makes such a sincere personal statement if he was forcefully getting banned / punished. We're not slicing something, we're both just guessing.

And the fact that it's 10 games is even more patronising really.

Just imagine the conversation in the boardroom. Old dicky has been shooting his mouth off again. Let's give the old duffer a 10 game ban and make him stand in the corner with a dunces hat on like a naughty schoolboy.

Maybe they should have just stripped the presidency for good. At least he would have gone out in a blaze of glory.

This is just humiliating....

The 'fans' as you call them sharing this on social media, at least all of those I saw, were calling it a disgrace and posting it to back Dick.

A 10 game ban means he will not be at an Albion match now till 4th Feb (home vs Muff). I appreciate he's retired now, but a 4 month holiday to the Maldives would seem rather lengthy. So I think we can disregard the "he's going on holiday anyway" theory.

There could easily have been a simple behind closed doors discussion about it, resulting in a "just wind your neck in a bit, old boy". But no. Its all gone public, and I do not believe that would have been at DK's behest. He's embarrassed by the whole thing, and the club have only made it worse.
