We all know that there is no loyality in football anymore. Managers, players and coaching staff come and go, it is only the fans that remain loyal through thick and thin.

My point is this, Bob Booker, Martin Tinselwood & Dean White why are they still here?

They are all coaching staff appointed by either Mickey Adams or Dick Knight some years ago. Each and every time we lose a manager, Dick insists that the backroom staff will not change.

Why the f*** not?

I'm pretty positive some top managers have either turned us down or been put off joining Brighton because they are not allowed to bring in their own staff.

Dick should have our best interests at heart, and If a top manager want's to join the Albion on the condition that he brings in his own staff, Dick should say "thank you Bob, Martin, Dean for all you've done for the club now goodbye".

Lets face it the players are in a comfort zone, because they know whoever becomes manager at the club, there mates Bob and Dean White will still be there.

Someone needs to come in with there own staff and give the players a damn good kick up the backside!

Until then expect to see more abject performance like last nite!

Dick sort it out!

yeah I tend to agree with that, obviously the youth aspects keep the same (Wilkins is a legend and doing marvelous stuff with the kids) but when you get to reserves you want the managers own staff/people he knows he can trust and work well with.

I think DK is right to show loyalty where it is due. There are rumours that Hinshelwood did not ask for the managers job, it was thrust upon him. So why should he find himself on the dole 2 months later when he's found to be not up to a job he never pretenced he was any good at?

As for Booker, I'm sure he has managerial ambitions but even he must be able to see that DK's hand has been forced on this one. He can't possibly be handed the reigns after those two performances.

Given that we will always have a high managerial turnover all the while the team is performing well and we are playing at a temporary ground, I think that the only way we are ever going to get quality managers in is to be seen to be a club who give their staff a chance to move on when they want. That's an issue for me, not criticising DK for his loyalty. The other issue is DK's dithering when making these appointments. He must have 30 CVs on his desk, I reckon he'd be able to pick 6 who could guide this team into a top 6 spot, and of those, 1 or 2 who could bring home another silver pot.
