i watched the italy game. saw sweden had scored, then when italy scored they thought they were through.:lolol:
they ran over to the manager celebrating, then the news was broken to them. great stuff and tears began to flow from cassano the goalscorers face.

By switching between two channels, I managed to miss FIVE of the goals tonight! :shootself Just saw the last two in the Sweden game.

Have to say that Sorensen looked very dodgy when palming down the "assist" for Sweden's second equaliser.

Still, never mind, eh!:)

I was switching backwards and forwards between ITV 1 & 2. It was uncanny as everytime I switched over there was a goal scored! As soon as Denmark went 2-1 up I thought that the 2-2 result was going to happen. I didn't think the Italians would ever score a second but when they did it was a surreal moment. Joy followed by tears so quickly.

the 2nd swedish goal is ridiculous. easy catch for sorensen but pushes it to swedish player when there are 3 denmark defenders around him! o well. feel a bit for italy, but can only blame themselves for only scoring one v sweden and denmark.

Living in Denmark and seeing the whole game and reactions etc... apart from the last 30 seconds or so it would be hard to call it a fix. The Danes were actually gutted they let in the equaliser and ended up second. They would have rather played Germany (most likely) than the Czechs. There is little love lost with the Swedes football wise and given that for most of the game a win was the only sure thing for the Danes to go through it was just coincidence it ended up 2-2. Sorensen is a good goaly but he is prone to those kind of gafs. Besides, the Italians were shite.

I agree GM - I watched the whole game (apart from a few glances at Italy) and there is no way that was fixed.

When Denmark went 2-1 up they kept piling forward and but for a great save from the Swedish keeper would have made it 3-1 with about 10 minutes to go.

Italy didnt deserve to go through as apart from the first half against Sweden they have been dreadful in front of goal, Vieri seems to have forgotten how to head a ball.

England v Denmark Semi anyone?

that was the biggest fix!yea everyones saying it difficult to fix a 2-2 draw, but it aint! Italy were hard done by and i hope the sweded and danish go out in the next round!

and what the f*** was that 2-2 draw shit all about! if two teams know that they need a 2-2 draw for them both to be guaranteed to qualify, there gonna play 2-2! especially scandinavian neighbours!

Right here's the stats from Denmark vs Sweden:

Shots:
Denmark - 16
Sweden - 15

On Target:
Denmark - 6
Sweden - 7

Possession:
Denmark - 52%
Sweden - 48%

That's a pretty well disguised "fixed" game. How exactly do you "play" for a 2-2 draw and manage to hide it? Why not score all 4 goals in the first half and then not bother in the second? Or was it all set up for Sweden to equalise in the 88th minute?

"Right, when it gets to 88 minutes, i'll have a shot which you parry away."
"Check, then I fail with the clearance and then you run in and score."
"Got it. Now remember Isaksson, you need to be off your line on 28 minutes so Tomasson can score an amazing goal. Oh and Sorenson, you need to make a brilliant double save from Larsson AND Ibrahimovic as well."

I'm sure that Markus Merk was also in on the deal as he gave a dubious penalty for Sweden (which Denmark went crazy over, just to keep up appearances of course) as well as the ref for the Bulgaria vs Italy game because that was a controversial penalty as well. Of course if the 4th official hadn't given FIVE minutes of injury time in the Italy game then Italy wouldn't have even won against Bulgaria, so now i'm confused because surely all the officials had been bribed by those dastardly Swedes and Danes? I'm sure it was all a huge conspiracy that made Vieri miss just about every header he had during this tournament. Those same shadowy forces must have made Ibrahimovic score that equaliser for Sweden.

Here's why Italy are out; They couldn't beat Denmark, they couldn't beat Sweden and they only JUST beat Bulgaria in the 4th minute of injury time. That's why they are going home, 'cos they just weren't good enough.

Here is a fixed game for you; West Germany vs Austria, 25/06/1982. The Estadio Balaidos, Vigo, Spain. West Germany had lost to Algeria in their opening game and looked in danger of going out in the first round. Algeria had beaten Chile the previous day in their final game to leave themselves on 4 points and with a good chance of becoming the first African side to qualify for the second phase of the World Cup. West Germany had to win their final game to go through, but if they won it 1-0 then their opponents would also progress due to goal difference. What a stroke of luck it was that their opponents happened to be their old Anchluss buddies, Austria.

Horst Hrubesch scored for West Germany after 10 minutes of play. After that there was not a single shot on target for the rest of the match. In fact the ball barely moved out of the centre circle as neither side made any attempt to attack AT ALL. There were only 2 further shots on goal for the rest of the match. The Spaniards and neutrals in the 41,000 crowd booed and whistled to show their displeasure at what was going on in front of them. When the final whistle sounded both sets of players congratulated each other.

That was a fix. What went on yesterday was not. What happened yesterday was an over-hyped side, like Spain on Monday, went out at the first stage because they under-estimated their opponents and thought they would breeze through against the "minnows". If Buffon hadn't made a brilliant save from a Petrov free-kick in the 88th minute then Bulgaria would have won the game and Italy would have finished bottom of the group. Bet that was all part of the "conspiracy" as well.
