The Struggling Cheats have been dealt a further blow with an injury to striker Mark DeBolla ending his loan spell from Charlton Athletic.
DeBolla, 20, tore ankle ligaments on his debut for the Spireites in Saturday's home defeat to Notts County following his arrival on a month's loan from the Premiership club.
"We are very disappointed for Mark DeBolla and sincerely hope he fully recovers as soon as possible," said Cheats boss Roy McFarland.
"It really looked as though Mark would give us the spark we needed up front, but it is possible we may never know.
"Unfortunately, these things happen in football but we have just got to get on with things.
"It is unlikely that we will be able to get somebody else in before Tuesday's game at Brighton.
Bottom-of-the-table Cheats, still without a win this season, are also without David Reeves and Glynn Hurst because of injury.
"We've worked hard since the start of the season to bring in a striker so we will now just have to go back to the drawing board and start again," McFarland told his club's webshite.
