Good news is Tim Henman and Ruseski are ready for this tie, with Henman on the form of his life.

If we win this tie we will be promoted back to the World Group, which is like the Premier League of World team tennis.

Here is the schedule,

Friday 24th:
Starts 1100hrs (10:00 UK Time)
R1 - S.Koubek (AUT) v T.Henman (GBR)
R2 - J.Melzer (AUT) v G.Rusedski (GBR)

Saturday 25th:
R3 - Starts 1300hrs (12:00 UK Time)
Knowle/Melzer (AUT) v Henman/Rusedski (GBR)

Sunday 26th:
Starts 1100hrs (10:00 UK Time)
R4 - J.Melzer (AUT) v T.Henman (GBR)
R5 - S.Koubek (AUT) v G.Rusedski (GBR)

The annoying thing is this tie is being played in Austria on Clay our weakest surface. This tie is not going to be easy, as both Melzer and Koubek have been in the Top 50 of the World rankings. Melzer is 34 in the world and Austrian No.1, Koubek is now 81, having been as high as 20th in 2000. Henmans 4, and is on hot form, and Ruseski is 80th. On paper this will be close, but lets hope we edge them.

Come on GB.

Rusedski has a habit of blowing games in the Davis Cup. Let's hope he doesn't have to play the fifth rubber!

Annoyingly there seems to be a problem with the coverage, or the weather in Austria, as the BBC are not showing any coverage at the mo.

I hope they don't play Ruseski, but problem is we will have to chuck on a Arvind Parmar, or Alex Bogdanovic, neither of whom are ranked in the Top 100, or have a good record on clay.:nono:

Every time we get promoted, we get relegated the following year. Pointlesss.

We might as well stick with playing Malta, Cyprus, Iceland etc.

Disclaimer: not that I give a shit. At all.

Tam Paton? You a closet Bay City Rollers fan? Tam O'Shanter perhaps if you are a jock. Tam Pax mebbe (although they aren't usually that close to the heart, I wouldn't have thought, but what do I know of such matters). Tam bourine Man is a possibility.

Albion have a much better chance of staying in the Championship than the British Davies Cup team have of ever beating Australia, US etc.

abandoned for the day :(. if the rain continues then it might get rescheduled by the organisers to a indoor venue twenty minutes drive from where its being held at the moment.

If it gets moved indoors then it might be on a hard court which will benefit our guys. Come on rain carry on so it can be moved indoors.:jester:
