This year's Guy Butters? Could he be midfielder we're crying out for? I keep reading that he is one of the most talented players at the club, is this right?

Disclaimer - I have absolutely no idea how good or bad he is as I've only seen him play once, at QPR, and nobody looked good on the day.

He was obviously trying to impress last night. He buzzed about a lot and his contribution ranged from promising to woeful.

My Father-in-Law (who knows nothing about football let alone the Seagulls) asked who he was as he picked up that he was running all over the pitch. I have to agree that he showed a lot of energy, but is still some way from the first team

Shows moments of skill, but seems far too wasteful with possession to play in central midfield as part of a two, and too slow to play on the wing

I hope Lee does prove his critics wrong, several managers have obviously seen something in him to keep him at the club, and we could do with another midfielder, especially if hes already at the club but in hiding.

Several managers have had no choice but to keep him at the club, as Taylor gave him a 3 and a half year contract. It is only the current manager that has seen fit to extend this contract.

Scored a great goal against us for Southend on the opening day a few years ago. Not recaptured that since.

Will Packham also thinks he is the most talented player we have.

didnt think he did much last night but he's obviously a talented midfielder and as we are crying out for a bit of quality in there then maybe we should give him the 3 months rather than 90 mins to prove this to us

I don't think he'll get his contract renewed in 3 months time. He was mostly poor last night, I think he'll be lucky to get a start for the first team.
