"Brighton manager Mark McGhee has released midfielder David Lee after deciding against offering him a new short-term contract.

The former Tottenham trainee joined Brighton in 2002 but made only six appearances for The Seagulls.

He spent time on loan at Bristol Rovers and Thurrock.

Lee is now looking for a new club and ironically, his next match could be for Leyton Orient against Brighton.

"I have been speaking to a few clubs and Orient want me to play next week in a friendly against Brighton," he revealed.

Colchester and non-league Hornchurch are also reportedly interested in the 24-year-old."

Meopham, Kent.
Blimey, I didn't think he'd stay in the league. Not really done much for anyone above the bottom half of the 4th Divison.

God, is he only 24?? I assumed from his generally uesless performances that he was older, and just hanging around for a last pay day.

you'd think he'd have been slightly more interested in saving his career if he's only 24. Though perhaps he's got something else lined up, who's to say?

"would you like to Go Large for only 30p extra?"

Who all rejected league football in favour of lots of money at Hornchurch and an easier standard of football.

i read this and went YES!!! david lee is a complete useless tosser another peter taylor signing and he just wasnt good enough, it be good to see him go to another club because he is a league 2 player or a league 1 player but any team who gets him will need to give him first team football straight away.

That is a bit harsh.

Why is he a tosser?

He's probably better than you at football. Does that make you a tosser?
