I always feel that Clough's managerial talents, although very accomplished, were over hyped for too long.

He was phenomenal in the 70s, but then did no more than above average with Forest throughout the 80s.

Not convinced he would have succeeded with England.

Depends on your definition of success, I think. Would Clough have won the WC? Probably not. Would he have been better than Revie or Greenwood? Almost certainly yes (imo).
