I'm intrigued. Who is he better known as?

A clue many people that can't go by their real name often call themselves after the place they were living at the time.

Paul Martin for instance was living in the Borough of Merton and so he became Paul Merton.

So where was David Cook living when he wanted to join the musician's union but could not as David Cook as there was already a member called David Cook.
